The Novara School is a modular, wood-framed building composed of a structural grid of pillars arranged to form a geometric mesh with a basic module of 5x10 m. This grid is structured around solid and void spaces, alternating to create a compositional dynamism made up of enclosed spaces, hybrid pergola-covered spaces, internal patios, and green spaces directly connected to the structure.

This geometric composition articulates the spaces along the east-west axis, generating rectangular blocks with sheered roofs, creating a significant compositional movement in the plan and elevation on Via Fara. This compositional system allows for a block-based construction, organized chronologically into different phases, allowing, as required by the program, to keep parts of the school operational while new ones are being built.
All the classrooms open to the outside through large glass walls, allowing for continuous visual contact between the interior and exterior.
Within the structural framework, the large windows feature a wooden sunshade system and large sliding/folding windows; the internal partitions, whether movable or masonry, can be removed or modified to accommodate new functional programs.
Economic feasibility, closely linked to the overall design choices, is tied to the costs envisaged in the project specifications; the entire design process was aimed at achieving the best possible balance between the overall costs and benefits of construction and, above all, the maintenance and management of the designed works.
The total gross floor area is 2,510.20 m2, spread across a single 2,030 m2 ground floor and a 480 m2 first floor. A green terrace and gardens for student use also feature, for a total floor area of almost 5,300 m2.

The project won the Second Prize in a competition organized by MIUR, the Italian Ministry of Education and Research.
